We are committed to making international experiences an indispensable part of Penn, whether through study abroad, service learning, or innovative travel initiatives. This map showcases the numerous opportunities for Penn students to study, research and volunteer abroad. For example, each year Penn Abroad sends approximately 600 undergraduate students to nearly 50 countries for a semester or an academic year. Short Term Abroad programs include faculty-led programs and offer undergraduate courses that are taught abroad during the summer for Penn credit.  Penn’s International Internship Program (IIP) provides opportunities for outstanding undergraduate and graduate students to intern abroad for eight to twelve weeks over the summer. The majority of internship placements have been with non-profit or non-governmental organizations, but the nature of the placements varies greatly. These global opportunities allow students to apply the academic knowledge they have obtained, while enriching their overall Penn experience with diverse cultural and international exposure and valuable work experience. There are also a variety of school specific global opportunities for undergraduate, graduate, and professional students that can be a vital part of a Penn experience.
