The Global Social Impact program (GSI) is a collaborative effort between the Office of the Vice Provost for Global Initiatives and Wharton Social Impact Initiative, aimed at developing partnerships to advance social impact around the world, as well as promote and increase the effectiveness of corporate citizenship. GSI establishes cross-School collaborations with industry, non-profits, and government, focusing on social impact research, teaching, and service projects in foreign countries.
GSI continuously builds upon its large network of corporate, NGO, and government leaders, to align faculty experts on high-impact projects that advance education, health, and social wellbeing around the world. Projects span a broad range of areas, including healthcare, sustainable resources, poverty elevation, food insecurity, anti-corruption, and youth and women empowerment. The scope of GSI projects range from large education and research-based multi-million dollar alliances to much smaller professional training programs, applied research, and conference development. GSI also offers non-financial support to faculty seeking to partner with industry to develop social impact-related research and educational programs overseas, and to foreign industry partners seeking faculty expertise to achieve corporate social responsibility goals.
