USCIS Fees

We are writing to inform you that U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) announced a new fee schedule effective November 23, 2010.

Applications or petitions mailed, postmarked, or otherwise filed on or after November 23, 2010 must include the new fee.  Most fees are being raised, but the fee for Form I-539 is being slightly lowered.

Here are some of the major fee changes:

  • I-765 (used for OPT, J-2 EAD, etc.): $380
  • I-539 (used for change of status, reinstatement, etc.): $290
  • I-129 (used for H-1B, O-1, etc.): $325
  • I-140 Immigrant Petition: $580
  • I-907 Premium Processing (used for H-1B expediting processing, etc.): $1,225

*Special note to F-1 students graduating in December 2010* --  The OPT application fee will increase by $40. If you wish to avoid paying the higher OPT filing fee, your application must be postmarked on or before November 22, 2010.  Please see the following link for details on the application process http://www.upenn.edu/oip/isss/opt
