All Visa Services at the U.S. Embassy in Cairo Suspended

The U.S. Department of State has issued the following announcement:

Due to security concerns, all visa services at the U.S. Embassy in Cairo are suspended until further notice. The Embassy regrets any inconvenience this temporary suspension may cause for persons wishing to visit or immigrate to the United States. The Embassy will resume visa operations as circumstances permit. Non-immigrant and immigrant visa applications of persons interviewed through January 27, 2011 are being processed normally. Applicants in this category with pending cases should check the Embassy’s website at http://cairo.usembassy.gov for information on the status of their cases. All visas issued are returned to applicants via DHL courier service. Delivery status may be tracked at http://www.dhlegypt.com.en/html.
