As the University of Pennsylvania’s new hub for global engagement, Perry World House is dedicated to advancing interdisciplinary, policy-relevant approaches to the world’s most urgent global affairs challenges. We provide multiple event spaces for the Penn community to gather and engage.
Perry World House especially prioritizes events that align with its inaugural research themes: Global Shifts: Urbanization, Migration, & Demography and The Future of Global Order: Power, Technology, & Governance. From the unprecedented scale of human displacement to questions surrounding the sustainability of urbanization and the consequences of demographic change, the Global Shifts theme examines three interconnected phenomena that individually and collectively shift the world’s population and transform the way we live. The Global Order theme examines the future of the global order in a world of rising nationalism and the role of emerging technologies in shaping international politics, as well as more traditional challenges such as nuclear proliferation and great power relations.
