In the second year, Penn’s China Research and Engagement Fund will support 9 proposals at a funding level of approximately $1.4 million over three years.
Highlights of the second tranche of projects include:
- The Fund will support projects led by faculty representing 6 of Penn’s 12 Schools, including Arts and Sciences, Design, Engineering, Law, Vet and Wharton with proposed involvement from a handful of other Schools and Centers including Medicine, the Center for the Study of Contemporary China, Center for East Asian Studies, and the Center for the Integrated Study of Japan.
- The projects will be led by over 14 principal investigators or principal partners from Penn.
- The selected projects propose collaborations with over 20 unique Chinese partners, as well as a half dozen organizations located around the world.
