Project Abstract

The Penn PSOM Center for Global Health has developed a comprehensive project that unites efforts spanning the two largest sectors of need in the Chinese healthcare and academic medical systems: a Certificate/Masters program in Translational Research (PI: Glen Gaulton, PhD) and the Penn Healthcare Leadership Program (PI: Joshua Atkins, MD, PhD). The programs target complementary audiences – one at the more junior level focused on specific research/clinical skill development, and one at the executive healthcare level focused on building the know-how to institutionally structure and support such programs. Both programs build upon Penn Medicine’s institutional strengths while also addressing key gaps in the Chinese educational and executive health training systems and will attract Chinese fellows, faculty and healthcare leaders to a variety of research/clinical training and leadership program offered by Penn, both in Philadelphia and at the Penn Wharton China Center.
