Will I receive academic credit for participating in a Penn Global Seminar?

Yes, each PGS course is worth 1 C.U. It will appear on your transcript as a standard Penn course.

How much does it cost to participate in a Penn Global Seminar?

The program fee for the Fall 2018 semester is $950. The program fee will be charged to your student account in two installments. A deposit of $500 will be charged to your student account shortly after you commit to the program. The balance of $450 will be charged to your student account shortly after the add deadline for the semester passes. The program fee covers airfare, ground transportation, accommodations, entry fees, and group meals. Students are also responsible for personal meals and incidental expenses, as well as visa/consular fees (where applicable). 

May I apply to more than one Penn Global Seminar?

You may only apply to one Penn Global Seminar per semester. If you would like assistance in selecting a Penn Global Seminar, please reach out to to set up an advising appointment. 

May I participate in the course without traveling with the group?

No, the travel portion of the course is compulsory and will be factored into your final grade.

Am I allowed to book my own flight and meet the group at the program site?

No, PGS participants are required to take both legs of the group flight booked by Penn Abroad. Please review the travel itinerary carefully to ensure that you are able to commit to the travel dates. Click here to view the policy around PGS group flights.
