The second annual Arts and Culture Showcase will kick off Penn Global Week with a celebration of the international communities at Penn and Philadelphia. The event will include a mini concert headlined by the West Philadelphia Orchestra and will also feature Penn student performing arts groupsThe Showcase will include a “pop-up” photo gallery highlighting student submissions to the #WorldatPenn photo contest. Food and beverages will be provided.

The West Philadelphia Orchestra is a group of local musicians "whose influences range from Sun Ra to Bulgarian brass bands." They've played at a variety of venues in Philadelphia, including the Penn Museum during the Summer Concert Series in early August. To learn more about the West Philadelphia Orchestra, please visit their website.  

 

PennSoriPenn Student Peforming Arts Groups

The Arts & Culture Showcase will also feature five Penn student groups, including: Atma, Dhamaka, Quaker NotesPennSori (featured left), and Yalla. Join us for an evening filled with music, song, dance and celebration!

 

Come check out the Arts & Culture Showcase pop-up photo gallery! The Gallery will feature submissions from this year's #WorldatPenn Photo Contest, through which Penn students are invited to exercise their creativity and submit a photo that represents who they are – their culture, couture, or cuisine. The Gallery be displayed in the classroom located in Perry World House.
