Having developed a successful research collaboration spanning 16 countries, Penn Nursing used this Global Engagement Fund grant to expand and extend its RN4CAST study, which examines how hospital nurse staffing, skill mix, educational composition, and quality of the nurse work environment impact hospital mortality, failure to rescue, quality of care, patient safety, and patient satisfaction. The study was initially conducted in China, South Africa, and Botswana. This project expanded its scope to Europe.
