Ryan Villanueva is the Program Coordinator for International Student and Scholar Services. Ryan facilitates activities, workshops and services beyond immigration concerns for international students and scholars with the goal of fully integrating them into the Penn community. He also leads orientation and adjustment activities for all incoming international students.
Ryan has enjoyed many experiences abroad from China to Chile and loves learning from other cultures. Ryan taught English through the English Opens Doors program with the Ministry of Education in Chile and has also been a Spanish interpreter and translator in the US. Ryan obtained a BA in Spanish from Virginia Commonwealth University where he was a Program Assistant at the Global Education Office. Ryan also holds a BBA in Marketing from James Madison University. He is currently completing a master’s in Intercultural Communication at Penn’s Graduate School of Education.
