Henry Lee

CAS ’28
SA: National University of Singapore

Henry Lee is a Junior at the University of Pennsylvania in the Benjamin Franklin Scholars Program, majoring in Economics in the college, and plans to minor in Psychology and East Asian Studies.

In Fall 2026, he will be studying at the National University of Singapore (NUS). During his time abroad, he hopes to deepen his understanding of economics through an international lens, learning how different cultural and political contexts shape economic systems. As a first generation college student, Henry is especially excited to be abroad, and connect with Singaporeans, sharing his experiences while learning theirs.

On campus, you can find Henry actively engaged in the Penn First Plus community as a mentor, and in clubs such as Red Cross and the Student Harm Reduction Coalition. You might also see him swimming at the Sheer Pool, or holding a camera around campus, taking photos for The Daily Pennsylvanian. Recently, the course, Existential Despair, has rekindled his interest in reading and journaling.

As an Asian American, Henry can’t wait to learn more about his own cultural roots. While he will miss Penn during the Fall, he is eager to embrace change, trying new things, talking to people, and growing through the new experiences during his time in Singapore!

This Fall, he is looking forward to:
● Making new friends, and engaging in clubs while at NUS
● Learning about Singaporean culture
● Broadening his perspective in Economics
● Travelling around Singapore and surrounding regions
