Khadija Turay

NURS ’27
SA: University of Queensland

My name is Khadija and I am a rising senior in the school of nursing ! In the fall, I will have the amazing opportunity to study at the University of Queensland in Brisbane, Australia. Growing up, I knew that Nursing was something I wanted to do, but if you had told me freshman year I’d end up traveling abroad to study, I wouldn’t have believed you. I love traveling to different countries when I can and am ecstatic to add Australia to that list !

On campus, you can usually find me handing out at the Penn First Plus center or working at the Houston Hall front desk. I love going to museums, gardens, and trying new restaurants. I’ve recently started using the food ranking up “Beli” although most of my ratings just say “yummy!”

I am very excited to explore Australia’s wildlife, although I have to admit the spiders do make me nervous. Australia has such a unique, diverse culture that I am eager to immerse myself into the Brisbane community while further developing my nursing skills.

This fall, I look forward to:

  • Learning more about Australian culture and wildlife
  • Building on my nursing skills
  • Getting out of my comfort zone
  • Trying new things
