Biography

Maureen Mokhles is an Electronics Engineering student from Ain Shams University in Cairo, Egypt, with a major interest in analog design. Her time at Penn was a great academic experience, especially through graduate-level courses in analog design and VLSI. She finds chip design fascinating because it is where physics, math, and intuition all come to life in a practical way. The access to great professors and resources here has helped her passion for the field grow. One of her favorite highlights was collaborating on engineering projects with international students where their shared interest in electronics made communication easy and the work engaging where everyone brought a different perspective. Beyond her studies, Maureen enjoys travel and photography, exploring cities like New York and Los Angeles. She also enjoyed practicing different languages with the diverse community at Penn and developed a hobby for cooking through cultural exchanges and Quaker Kitchen. Overall, her time at Penn shaped her educational and personal growth, learning just as much from her peers as from the engineering work.
