Job hunting in a different country
My Experience Abroad:
While I was abroad, I took classes that counted for my major. I learned about ecology and environmental issues from a new perspective which I can now apply to my classes at Penn. Since Australia has such a unique natural landscape I was able to gain a better understanding of the role habitat plays into conservation. I also learned how sustainability is integrated into daily life, which is applicable to my classes at Penn that are related to climate change and waste management.
Other Highlights:

Meeting people from all backgrounds. Even though we were from different places, we were able to connect and learn from each other.

Traveling around Australia and neighboring countries.

Exploring new cultures.

Seeing the different wildlife that Australia has. I gained a better understanding of the ecology of the region from my classes so I appreciated the diversity while visiting zoos and hiking around Sydney. Many of the animals that are common to the region I had never seen and it really sparked my interest in my studies even more.
