Ask me about...

  • Balancing abroad coursework with a full-time internship

  • Going abroad on a budget

  • Working as a Media Intern

  • Making friends abroad

My Experience Abroad:

As an economics major, I've taken courses that discuss macro market trends in the United States. While I was abroad as a Media Intern for a small digital media company in Sydney, I conducted similar research, but for the Australian market. I reported on financial trends in Australia and noted in my head the similarities and differences between the two countries. I'm also pursuing a Consumer Psychology minor, and my time as an intern allowed me to put my marketing skills to use. Sometimes I would be tasked with editing marketing materials to promote the company's services, always keeping in mind the target segment and other useful concepts that I've learned in the classroom.

Other Highlights:

  • Finding the best flea markets

  • Experiencing Christmas in July

  • Seeing penguins emerge from the shores of Melbourne

  • Eating lots of vegan food (like "carrot dogs")
