My Experience Abroad:

I believe that an important aspect of the college experience is stepping out of your comfort zone and trying new things, despite how scary it may seem in the moment. This was something that I kept at the back of my mind throughout my abroad experience. With that, not only was I able to take classes in my major, psychology, to fulfill requirements, but I was also able to explore new interests because of the array of classes offered at Queen Mary.  While abroad, I took classes in both the geography and history departments, which are typically areas that I stray away from. However, I really enjoyed both of the classes and learned a lot of interesting information focused on England. Overall, my abroad experience has encouraged me to keep an open mind and to try new things.

Other Highlights:

  • Touring the Tower of London

  • Having afternoon tea with my friends

  • Meeting people from around the world with completely different backgrounds
