My Experience Abroad:

As a Wharton student, my semester abroad was a chance to step back from a business curriculum and focus on the liberal arts. I took a variety of classes at the Universidad de Sevilla ranging from geography, history of cinema, economics and political science. In addition, as part of our CASA program course, I wrote an independent research paper about the relationship between graffiti and urban art in Sevilla (and even got to interview local artists!). However, my favorite part about my experience was truly immersing myself in the local Andalusian culture. For example, I got involved by singing in the university choir, volunteering weekly at a local elementary school, and tutoring a neighbor in English. My time abroad was a formative experience that has changed both my career and life goals!

Other Highlights:

  • Performing at a concert in Ronda with the university choir and orchestra

  • My relationship with my host family

  • Hiking in the north of Spain

  • Meeting exchange students from all over the world
