My Experience Abroad:
Working at Ashoka made me rethink what courses I want to take to complete my major/degree requirements at Penn. I want to make sure I'm flexible enough that I can work both in the for-profit and non-profit sectors. While there are no rigid requirements for the latter, interning at a firm that focuses on social entrepreneurship made me realize that I could potentially end up working in a similar field. For that reason, I am now focusing on taking more classes in entrepreneurship and management, both of which were not on my radar before I interned in Mexico.
Other Highlights:
-
Traveling around Mexico City as a local rather than a tourist
-
Eating 3 conchas (super DELICIOUS Mexican bread with powdered sugar on top) every day for 2 months straight
-
Visiting the BREATHTAKINGLY beautiful and STUNNING sites both in and around Prague
-
Getting lost in Prague on a daily basis and exploring niche spots rather than touristy places
