Are you ready to speak with a Penn Abroad staff member about your interests in adding an international experience to your Penn career? Penn Abroad offers both individual advising appointments and group advising sessions to help you learn more about the different types of global opportunities available to Penn students.

  • Semester and academic year study abroad programs require an advising appointment before you can open an application.

  • The Global Internship Program requires an advising appointment prior to the application deadline. For summer 2018, the application deadline is January 10, 2018. You are strongly encouraged to schedule an advising session ASAP, as slots do fill.

If your program requires advising and offers group advising, you are encouraged to attend the group advising session. Be sure to come prepared with any questions you may have about the program, region, or abroad process!

  • Group Study Abroad Advising
  • During group advising, you will learn more about your program or region of interest through a presentation from a Penn Abroad staff member and alongside several of your peers also interested in studying at the same location. Group advising sessions include time for individual questions from students.

    Online Group Advising:

These are virtual sessions on Blue Jeans that require you to use your Penn email account.  These sessions will start promptly at the time indicated and require you to be present for the full session.  You do not have to sign up ahead of time - simply show up to the session that works best for you.

Please READ and FOLLOW these instructions carefully to find out how to log on:

    • Each morning, the link to join each session will be posted here.
    • Click on the link for that day's session.
    • Click on "Join with Browser" at the bottom of your screen.
    • Click "Allow" to give Blue Jeans access to your camera and microphone.
    • Click "Computer Audio" as your audio option.
    • Make sure that your Microphone toggle is OFF (this is very important as this will make sure any background noise does not interfere with the session)
    • Click "Join Meeting"
    • When prompted, type in your first and last name.  If you do not type your name in correctly, I will be unable to verify your attendance.

You will have the ability to type any questions you have in the Chat box on the right hand side.

At the end of the session, a link will be distributed that contains a short survey.  Your advising requirement will be checked off ONLY IF you attend the full session AND complete the survey in its entirety.

Virtual advising sessions will be held at the following times:

  • Penn Global Seminars Advising
