Partnerships and Intiatives

Penn actively engages with Asia through a range of partnerships and initiatives that foster academic collaboration, research, and student exchange. 

Center for the Study of Contemporary China

The CSCC was established to advance Penn’s leadership in programs and research that shape the relationship between China and the world today. It serves as a central hub for campus-wide collaboration among Penn scholars and experts working on contemporary issues related to China. 

Center for the Advanced Study of India 

CASI is a research institute dedicated to fostering students’ research and engagement with a focus on modern India.  

University of Pennsylvania Institute for the Advanced Study of India  

UPIASI is CASI’s counterpart institution in India, established to strengthen the network for collaborative research and scholarship between the US and India.

China Research and Engagement Fund 

Penn’s China Research and Engagement Fund is designed to stimulate and support research and engagement activities in China. 

India Research and Engagement Fund 

Penn’s India Research and Engagement Fund supports faculty research projects that advance engagement in India.
