Threats to Democracy at Home and Abroad: An Update on the Congressional Russia Investigation with Congressman Adam Schiff

Join us at Perry World House on Monday, January 22 for a conversation with Congressman Adam Schiff, ranking member of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, which is charged with investigating Russia’s interference in the 2016 US presidential election. Congressman Schiff will provide an update on the Russia investigation, engage in conversation with Perry World House Director Bill Burke-White about threats to democracy at home and abroad, and will take questions from the audience. A light lunch will be served beginning at 11:45am.

Congressman Adam Schiff represents California's 28th District. Throughout his tenure in Congress, he has focused on growing the economy, bolstering national security, strengthening our communities, helping small businesses, and improving education, safety and health care. In his 9th term, Schiff currently serves as the Ranking Member of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence.

Previously, Congressman Schiff served as State Senator for California's 21st District, chairing the Judiciary Committee, the Select Committee on Juvenile Justice and the Joint Committee on the Arts. He led efforts to guarantee updated textbooks in the classroom, overhaul child support, and pass a patient's bill of rights. Before serving in the Legislature, Schiff served with the U.S. Attorney's Office in LA for six years.

Congressman Schiff is a graduate of Stanford University and Harvard Law School. He and his wife Eve have two children, a daughter, Alexa, and a son, Elijah.
