While failures in the water sector – like the lead contamination scandal in Flint, Michigan – rightly make national and even global headlines, the sector’s successes also deserve recognition. Urban water leaders are emerging all over the world, creating dynamic, high-performing water utilities at the center of efforts to build smart, sustainable cities fit for the 21st century.

In this edition of The World Today, Howard Neukrug, Professor of Practice and Executive Director of the Water Center at Penn, will describe lessons learned from these world-leading water innovators, and discuss key achievements by the global water sector in recent years.
