Climate Change, Global Governance, International Law Watch Now: The Paris Agreement, Five Years Later

September 21, 2020
By Perry World House

This special edition of The World Today kicks off Climate Week at Penn with a discussion of the Paris Agreement on Climate Change, five years on. The most ambitious global climate accord in history, both negotiators and activists acknowledge the agreement is far from perfect, but it has still had an impact.

How has the Paris Agreement contributed to emission reduction so far? Where does the global community go from here? This virtual edition of The World Today features Susan Biniaz - a lead American negotiator of the Paris Agreement and a Visiting Fellow with us at Perry World House this year - and our Senior Faculty Fellow Michael Weisberg.

Penn's annual Climate Week is an event series focused on the global climate emergency and what it means for us all. As part of the week, we'll also co-host talks on Africa and climate change, and climate leadership at Penn. Learn more: https://climateweek.provost.upenn.edu/
