Anastasia Shown is a lecturer and global education consultant. She teaches K-12 and higher education courses in social work and social policy, international development, racism and gender studies, and African studies. She designs and leads study abroad and community engagement programs for students and teachers. She facilitates professional development programs, develops grant proposals, conducts assessments and evaluations, and leads outreach efforts to connect people to resources. She has worked with 100+ K-12 schools, colleges, nonprofits, professional associations and government agencies in Philadelphia, the nation, and abroad. She was awarded the Global Young Advocate Award by the United Nations Association of America, a Fulbright-Hays grant, the Centennial Partner Award from International House Philadelphia and a Globy Award for Educational Leadership. She is an alum of Up with People International and has served on the Board of Directors for the United Nations Association of Greater Philadelphia and the Global Philadelphia Association.
