Advising

ISSS Advising takes place virtually for the convenience and flexibility of our diverse global community. Through virtual advising, ISSS can meet with international students, scholars, and staff members located in both Philadelphia and overseas. If your individual circumstances require an in-person appointment, please inform your assigned advisor. 

Each international student and scholar at Penn has a designated ISSS advisor, who is the go-to person for immigration questions that cannot be answered by visiting the ISSS website or contacting the front desk. You can find out your assigned advisor’s name and their contact information in your iPenn homepage.  

Please use iPenn to sign up for an appointment. You may book your assigned advisor, or any available advisor depending on your visa class. You will receive a confirmation email containing the link to join your session. Please ensure that you provide a valid email address to receive confirmation emails.  

If you don’t see any available slots, check back the next day. New sessions are added daily. You can also take advantage of the drop-in sessions that do not require appointments. There is at least one hour of drop-in session every day.
