Advising Appointments

Virtual Advising Sessions

ISSS Advising takes place virtually for the convenience and flexibility of our diverse global community.

Global Accessibility of Virtual Advising: Through virtual advising, ISSS can meet with international students, scholars, and staff members located in both Philadelphia and overseas.

Requesting In-Person Appointments: If your individual circumstances require an in-person appointment, please inform your assigned advisor.

ISSS Advisors

Each international student and scholar at Penn has a designated ISSS advisor, who is the go-to person for immigration questions that cannot be answered by visiting the ISSS website or contacting the front desk.

Finding Your Assigned Advisor: You can find out your assigned advisor’s name and their contact information in your iPenn homepage.

Scheduling Appointments

Scheduling Appointments via iPenn: Please use iPenn to sign up for an appointment.

Choosing an Advisor: You may book your assigned advisor, or any available advisor depending on your visa class.

Confirmation Email for Appointments: You will receive a confirmation email containing the link to join your session.

Providing a Valid Email Address: Please ensure that you provide a valid email address to receive confirmation emails.

Important Notes

Checking for Available Slots: If you don’t see any available slots, check back the next day—new sessions are released one week in advance. Any times more than a week out will appear unavailable until they are within that one week future period.

Drop-In Sessions: You’re welcome to join a drop-in session—no appointment needed. At least one hour of drop-in advising is available each weekday.

Please be courteous:

If you attend a drop-in session or no longer need this appointment, cancel it so others can get the assistance they need.
