Commitment to Supporting J-1 Exchange Visitors: Penn and ISSS are deeply committed to supporting J-1 exchange visitors by fostering a welcoming and enriching environment for academic and cultural exchange.

Comprehensive Resources and Guidance: We provide comprehensive resources and guidance to ensure a smooth transition and a successful stay, from pre-arrival assistance to ongoing support throughout their program.

Goal of Cultivating an Inclusive Community: Our goal is to cultivate an inclusive community where J-1 exchange visitors can thrive, engage in meaningful research, and build lasting connections. By investing in their success, we contribute to the advancement of global knowledge and mutual understanding.

Participation in Culture Crossings Events: While J-1 exchange visitors are welcome to participate in most Culture Crossings events—open to all Penn international students and scholars—we also host exclusive annual events for J-1 exchange visitors each fall and spring semester.
