Biography
Bona Lee Aglasi-Sungay is an educator, advocate, and wanderer at heart. Born into a large family of farmers and miners in the Cordillera region of the Philippines, Bona Lee is the proud daughter of hardworking parents and one of eight siblings – seven sisters and herself. This close-knit family upbringing instilled in her values of resilience, community, and empowerment. With over 15 years of teaching experience in Vietnam and China, Bona Lee has developed a deep understanding of diverse learning environments.
Currently, she is pursuing her M.S.Ed in International Education Development at the University of Pennsylvania and serving as an Education Fellow at the Family Service Center in her second year. Beyond her professional pursuits, Bona Lee has a creative soul. She’s an avid enthusiast of performance arts, with a special passion for music. Singing and jamming with friends and family are her outlets for self-expression and cultural connection. As a loving wife to her husband and mother to three children, Bona Lee draws strength in her faith and family. During her downtime, you’ll find her exploring new board games, splurging to songs and movies, cooking, reading, or traveling.
