Chiwei is the Assistant Director for Faculty and Scholar Support at ISSS. As part of the ISSS leadership team, Chiwei’s main role is to provide Penn’s international faculty members, scholars and hiring departments with services on immigrant matters and strategic plans based on federal immigration regulations and Penn’s policy.
Chiwei handles a wide variety of H1B petitions and assists Penn’s international faculty with their permanent residency applications through special handling process. She also acts as a liaison for international faculty, researchers, physicians, and staff with their permanent residency applications, O1 visa, TN visa, E3 visa and Conrad 30 wavier through ISSS’ outside legal counsel programs. In addition to immigration matters, Chiwei provides public comments on behalf of the University of Pennsylvania to advocate for the international community.
Chiwei was an ISSS Advisor and has comprehensive immigration law and international business law consulting experience before this role. Chiwei has been teaching as an adjunct faculty at Temple University. She holds S.J.D. and LL.M. degrees from Penn Law and an LL.B. degree from National Taiwan University. Chiwei is excited to help bring in international talents from around the globe to enrich the Penn community. Chiwei is fluent in English, Mandarin Chinese and Taiwanese.
