Penn Global Launches New Engagement Opportunity for Research in Egypt and the Middle East
Current University of Pennsylvania affiliates are invited to apply for funding to support travel to the American University in Cairo and the Middle East to participate in research and fieldwork, course development and site visits, meetings with international peers and partners, and/or conference or networking opportunities.
- Grants will cover travel-related costs
- Grant recipients are required to plan for and complete a 3-4 week residency at the American University of Cairo, Egypt, though funding may also be expended elsewhere in the region
- Penn Global expects to award 1-2 grants to competitive proposals in the 2025-2026 academic year
- Priority consideration will be given to proposals that examine issues in global business, economics, and international trade
Application policies and procedures are in development, but Penn Global welcomes initial proposals and inquiries from interested applicants by December 15, 2025, via email at global@upenn.edu
