When I first arrived at Yonsei University on August 23, I knew I was entering one of Korea’s most famous institutions. However, I didn’t realize how quickly it would start to feel like home. The stone buildings, tree-lined paths, and constant buzz of student life have become part of my daily routine. One of my favorite spots is the area leading up to the main building. Here, the campus seems to mix history and energy perfectly. Walking through that long pathway every morning, surrounded by the golden leaves of fall, I feel both calm and inspired. It feels like I’m part of something much bigger than myself.

As the semester has progressed, Yonsei has become more than just classrooms and lectures. It’s a place where culture, community, and curiosity meet. While studying, working on projects, and exploring Seoul, I’ve found a rhythm here. Every week brings something new, such as a small festival, club performance, or food truck event that reminds me how vibrant the campus is. Recently, there was a “Stress-Free Spaghetti Zone” event in the courtyard. Students gathered to eat, laugh, and meet the famous 4th gen K-Pop girl group Le Sserafim. I joined the crowd, surrounded by colorful leaves and the cheers of students. It occurred to me how communal life at Yonsei feels. Even as an international student, I’ve never felt out of place. There’s a strong sense of belonging that comes from shared experiences like these.

My time here hasn’t just been about watching Korean culture; it’s been about taking part in it. I’ve spoken more Korean in everyday conversations. I’ve also learned how music, food, and friendship play a big role in university life. I appreciate the balance between tradition and modernity that defines Yonsei. Whether I’m grabbing coffee after class, practicing a dance routine for a K-pop project, or taking a solo walk around Sinchon, I find joy in both the big and small moments.
As November begins, I can already sense that leaving will be bittersweet. Yonsei has taught me more than just academic lessons; it has shown me what it means to grow, adjust, and connect across cultures. The blend of hard work, laughter, and late-night convenience store trips has made this experience unforgettable. For now, I’m just taking it all in—one photo, one walk, and one memory at a time.
