After participating in the Spring 2019 Penn Global Seminar Case Studies in Environmental Sustainability led by Dr. Alain Plante, two students have been published in the peer-reviewed journal Case Studies in the Environment. Dr. Plante supervised the research of each student and reviewed the final manuscripts.
Cezanne S. Lojeski's case study A Review of Nonscientific Factors Contributing to the Development of Terrestrial Ecosystem Conservation Policies and Practices in Iceland explores the history of conservation in Iceland and Icelandic environmental policy developed in response to the degradation of terrestrial ecosystems.
Evelyn Sorrell's case study Dilemmas of Nature-Based Tourism in Iceland examines the tension and impacts of over-tourism on the island known for its wild landscape of lava fields, mountains, and glaciers.
Congratulations to Cezanne and Evelyn on this incredible accomplishment.
