PGS: Perspectives in Afro-Luso-Brazilian Culture
Anna Maria Flausino is a Sophmore from Philadelphia studying International Relations at the College of Arts and Sciences. This semester, she will be traveling to Minas Gerais, Brazil, with her Penn global seminar to delve into the impact of Portuguese colonialism in Brazil. On campus, Anna Maria is committed to exploring her interests in global affairs and the law through her involvement with the International Affairs Association, Pre-Law Fraternity, and the Civic Youth Action Partnership. Outside class, she enjoys exploring Philly street fairs and markets, watching political dramas, and hanging out with her two dogs. Anna Maria’s passion for international relations is deeply rooted in her Brazilian heritage, which she is eager to explore more in-depth during this PGS experience while practicing her Portuguese speaking abilities.
