PGS: The Functions of Art
Ike Willis is a junior from Philadelphia studying Philosophy, Politics, and Economics with a concentration in Choice and Behavior. This semester, he’ll travel to Florence, Padua, and Venice to gain a deeper understanding of the function of art and its role in our lives. On campus, he engages with the arts by serving as the vice president of Simply Chaos, Penn’s only stand-up comedy group. He is also a prolific writer and video editor for Under the Button, a branch of The Daily Pennsylvanian that focuses on satirical work. He also serves as a customer service associate at firstServices, ensuring that laundry is delivered to students promptly. Outside of class, you will see him reading a book outside William’s Cafe, watching a movie with a good friend, or writing jokes for his upcoming stand-up show. During this global experience, Ike is looking forward to visiting the various museums on the trip, whether it’s the Uffizi Galleries or the Galleria dell’Accademia.
