Ask Me About…

A few unique aspects of my experience including:

  • Being abroad as a freshman
  • Creating and presenting a presentation to stakeholders in the country where I studied abroad
  • Filming and editing a documentary of my study abroad experience as a final class project
  • Meeting with multiple stakeholders while abroad, including prominent government officials

My Experience Abroad

My study abroad experience perfectly aligned with my future career goals and interests in environmental justice and water sustainability. The Netherlands is the perfect case study for examining what steps are currently being taken to combat climate change-induced effects, like rising sea levels and flooding, and for analyzing what should be done differently in hindsight.

Both of these factors, in addition to getting the opportunity to meet engineers, consultants, government officials, and policymakers, relate to the research and policy side of environmental justice that I am particularly interested in.

Furthermore, given that I would like to be involved in international affairs in Latin America and Africa, being able to travel and learn about environmental issues in a foreign country was an amazing experience.
