Ask Me About…
Not many engineering students choose to go abroad. And it is even more rare that an engineer goes to the study abroad program at Yonsei. I came into college knowing I wanted to go abroad and was willing to take the time and energy to figure out how it was possible. Because of this, I would love to encourage other engineers to try going abroad as it is very doable, and not enough people consider it.
My Experiences Abroad:
I took multiple crucial classes for my major including a control engineering class. I had always wanted to take engineering classes abroad to see the global perspective on engineering and how it is viewed and approached. It was gratifying to see this. It also gave me the confidence to pursue working as an engineer abroad now that I know these different perspectives.
Other Highlights:
I gained such a great understanding of myself and who I am without the people I spend most of my time with. I have so much more self-efficacy for navigating uncomfortable spaces and have realized that I am more capable of it than I previously thought. I met so many amazing people from different countries and different majors who had very similar experiences in college as me. It helped me realize how intertwined our world is and how similar we may be and not even know it.
