Mohammad Yaghi

Mohammad Yaghi is a junior at the University of Pennsylvania, studying in the Huntsman Program of International Studies and Business. In Spring 2026, he will be studying at the American University of Cairo, where he will focus on Arabic language, Middle Eastern politics, and regional economic policy. From Houston, Mohammad has deep interests in international relations, global financial markets, and modern history. On campus, he serves as a Portfolio Manager of the Wharton Investment & Trading Group, member of the Private Equity & Venture Capital club, member of the Huntsman Student Advisory Board, and more. In his free time, Mohammad enjoys non-fiction reading, weightlifting, watching basketball, and exploring new cultures through language and travel. He is thrilled to spend a semester immersing himself in Middle Eastern history, language, and business environments while traveling across Africa and Eurasia.
This spring, he is looking forward to:
- Advancing his written skills in Standard Modern Arabic
- Visiting a variety of historical artifacts in Cairo’s museums
- Exploring diverse natural landscapes across North Africa, the Mediterranean, Southern Europe, and Central Asia
- Cultivating a deeper understanding of Middle Eastern foreign policy and intraregional history
