Rachel Yu

Wharton ’27
SA: Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK)

Rachel Yu is a junior at Wharton, concentrating in Finance and OIDD, with a minor in Cinema and Media Studies. In Spring 2026, she will be studying abroad at the Chinese University of Hong Kong, where she hopes to explore the intersection of global business and media culture.

Originally from Brooklyn, New York, her upbringing has inspired her curiosity about different cultures, her appreciation for the arts, and her passion for developing a global perspective on business. On campus, she serves as Chief Marketing Officer of the Penn Student Federal Credit Union, a Finance Committee member in Wharton Women, and a Board Member of Wharton Together. In her free time, you can find her trying new restaurants, exploring hiking trails, watching Formula One, and writing screenplays. She is excited to immerse herself in Hong Kong’s dynamic culture, financial markets, and creative industries.

This spring, she is looking forward to:

  • Gaining a deeper understanding of Hong Kong’s role in the global financial system
  • Connecting with local and international students and professionals
  • Traveling across Asia to experience diverse cultures and cuisines
  • Improving her proficiency in Mandarin and Cantonese
