My Experience Abroad

IĀ found that my courses at the Universitat de Barcelona furthered my academic goals as both a Political Science and Hispanic Studies student. I took two political science classes, the EU: Political Institutions and Introduction to Public Law, which were invaluable experiences. These courses helped me develop my knowledge of international relations and comparative politics, from a Spanish and European perspective, which will be highly useful in a career in international affairs.

As an avid Spanish learner, for years it was a dream of mine to study in a Spanish-speaking country and completely immerse myself in the language and culture. Taking all my courses in Spanish and connecting with my classmates was just the opportunity I was looking for. From differences between the U.S. and Spanish school systems to academic norms and Spanish politics, these intercultural conversations gave me a new perspective.
