
Trakeem Chin

Biography
Trakeem Chin is a junior at the University of Pennsylvania, majoring in Political Science with a concentration in
American Politics and minoring in Korean Studies. In Fall 2025, he will be studying abroad at Yonsei University in Seoul, South Korea, where he will focus on Korean Language and Literature.
Originally from Jamaica, Trakeem moved to the United States at age 12, adjusting to a new
culture and education system in the middle of the school year. His background has shaped his
adaptability, global perspective, and deep interest in business, public policy, and law. On campus,
he has served as a general body member of Penn’s Black Pre-Law Association, John Marshall
Pre-Law Society, Wharton Alliance, and more. He is also a Penn First Plus (PennCAP)
participant, advocating for first-generation students navigating higher education.
In his free time, Trakeem enjoys K-pop dance covers, soccer, volleyball, and exploring new
cultures through language and travel. As half Korean, he is thrilled to spend a semester
immersing himself in South Korea’s history, language, and business environment while traveling
across Asia.
This fall, he is looking forward to:
- Advancing his Korean language proficiency in an immersive academic setting
- Exploring Seoul’s vibrant culture, history, and food scene
- Engaging with global business and policy discussions from an East Asian perspective
- Connecting with international students and professionals in law, business, and diplomacy
