PGS: Korean Language & Culture

Cosette Burrese is a sophomore Huntsman student studying International Studies with a focus in Korean & a minor in East Asian Language and Civilization in the College and Management in Wharton. This spring semester, she will be participating in Penn Global Seminar for Korean Language & Culture. Being born in Montana, she is excited for opportunities to explore the world that Penn offers. At Penn, Cosette is involved with Global Research Consulting (GRC), Penn Social Entrepreneurship Movement (PennSEM), Penn Debate Society (PDS), Sigma Kappa, and is a research assistant for the linguistics department. Outside of classes, she loves to work at her internship at Fiveable (an EdTech startup), take pictures with her camera of moments around campus, watch movies with her friends, try different Korean skincare brands, and go to concerts in the surrounding area.

During this trip, she is particularly looking forward to…

  • Spending a week in Korea with her class at Penn
  • Trying new foods around campus
  • Korea Reading--a variety of fiction and nonfiction books off of her bucket list
  • Spending her school breaks traveling to different cities & countries
  • Learning about the history of Korea
  • Visiting and learning about the cultural significance of Gyeongju
