Global Programs Manager

Joana serves as a program manager supporting student internships and research opportunities with a focus on the Global Research & Internship Program. Joana also advises and supports students who are seeking global opportunities in the Semester Abroad program. Before joining the Penn Abroad team, Joana worked as a public historian for six years at institutions like the Museum of Jewish Heritage and the National Park Service. She received her B.A. in History from The College of New Jersey and her M.A. in History from Temple University. Joana participated in a semester-long study abroad program in Paris, France, where she later returned for a fellowship with the International Council of Monuments and Sites. She is a dual citizen of the U.S. and Portugal.
