Zarah Huo is a rising Senior majoring in nursing and minoring in global health. This upcoming semester, she will be studying abroad at the University of Queensland. Moving across the country to attend Penn from Los Angeles, California, Zarah is excited to uproot herself, yet again, and travel halfway across the world to Brisbane, Australia!. On campus, she is a Perry World House Student Fellow and member of Alpha Phi Omega. In her free time, she enjoys cooking with friends, exploring new restaurants and cafes, and improving her scenic and candid photography skills. She’s ecstatic to be spending the next semester interacting with the Australian healthcare system as a student nurse and caring for individuals from different backgrounds and cultures.
This fall semester, she is looking forward to:
- Interacting with and navigating the Australian healthcare system
- Exploring Australian cuisine and food culture, such as meat pies, kangaroo, and lamington
- Working with healthcare professionals and caring for patients from various backgrounds
- Taking photos of the breathtaking botanic gardens, beaches, and river walks
- Driving along the Gold Coast and traveling around Australia
