Penn Global Seminar PGS Correspondents

Penn Global Seminar Correspondents are students dedicated to sharing their experience on a PGS with the Penn community. By sharing their writing, photography, and videos, they highlight the student experience abroad and how Penn students engage with the world during their time in an immersive, academic setting.

Interested in sharing your experience while you are abroad on a Penn Global Seminar? Review the program requirements and submit an application on PASSPORT be considered for the opportunity to become a PGS Correspondent. 

Program Requirements

  • Write two blog posts, to be published on the Penn Abroad Blog, one before and one after travel on a Penn Global Seminar. 

  • Engage with Penn Abroad on social media and submit a minimum of 2 Instagram posts of content while abroad, choosing from the following themes: 

    • Day in the life using Instagram stories.

    • Reel or TikTok video of time abroad.  

    • Post focusing on academic experience with caption and photos. 

    • Post focusing cultural experience with caption and photos.

  • Become a Penn Abroad Ambassador upon your return.

Full instructions will be provided to you if you are chosen as a PGS Correspondent. All posts should be about your experience on a Penn Global Seminar. Posts should refrain from making references to partying, drinking, etc.

Eligibility

  • Currently enrolled in a Penn Global Seminar.

  • Interest in writing, photography, videography, and/or social media.

  • Accountability to meet all program requirements.

Application

Applications for Fall 2024 PGS Correspondents are due September 20, 2024 at 11:59 PM. Application decisions will be made before travel. 

Award Disbursement

The $150 award (subject to tax withholdings) will be disbursed upon completion of the program requirements and return from the travel component of a Penn Global Seminar.
