Global Opportunities Pre-Health

As a pre-health student, you are encouraged to take part in a global experience as part of your time at Penn. Through these global experiences, you will have the unparalleled opportunity to gain career-advancing skills, learn about different cultures and healthcare systems, and develop a global perspective. Penn offers a diverse portfolio of global opportunities that enable you to find a program that integrates into your unique pre-health curriculum and meets your goals and interests.

Students should discuss their medical school plans and specific academic needs with their pre-health advisor. As a reminder, students must complete all CORE medical school requirements in the United States.

Aylin Ergin - College '25, Neurobiology

"I took PGS: Health and the Healthcare System in Chile primarily because I want to pursue a career in the medical field. We took several courses relating to nursing and various health topics that I felt furthered my understanding of healthcare in general and also how it applied to the Chilean system. I hope to be able to use my knowledge and experience to better understand other healthcare systems around the world and also to work to find a way to improve our own healthcare system in the US."
