About the Sawiris Scholars
During their time at Penn, students from Egyptian universities will work with faculty and academic advisors, explore American culture, and experience academics at an Ivy League University. The Sawiris Scholars will leave Penn with newfound skills, a global outlook, and friendships to last a lifetime, making them well prepared to help advance their communities upon their return.
With great appreciation to a generous gift from the NNS Foundation – a charity fund settled by Nassef Sawiris – and in collaboration with the Sawiris Foundation in Egypt, the University of Pennsylvania welcomes a select group of students from Egyptian partner university into the Sawiris Penn Scholars Exchange Program for a year-long scholarship program. The Sawiris Penn Scholars Exchange Program allows for the inspirational exchange of ideas, knowledge, and culture between degree-seeking Penn students and students from Egyptian universities. We invite up to five students per academic year to fully immerse themselves in the Penn experience.
