Sawiris Penn Scholars Exchange Program

The Sawiris Penn Scholars Exchange Program brings up to five scholars from the architecture engineering and electrical engineering programs at Ain Shams University to the University and fully immerse them in the Penn experience.

About the Sawiris Scholars

During their time at Penn, students from Egyptian universities will work with faculty and academic advisors, explore American culture, and experience academics at an Ivy League University. The Sawiris Scholars will leave Penn with newfound skills, a global outlook, and friendships to last a lifetime, making them well prepared to help advance their communities upon their return.

With great appreciation to a generous gift from the NNS Foundation – a charity fund settled by Nassef Sawiris – and in collaboration with the Sawiris Foundation in Egypt, the University of Pennsylvania will welcome a select group of students from the architecture engineering and electrical engineering programs at Ain Shams University into the Sawiris Penn Scholars Exchange Program during the 2022 fall semester. The Sawiris Penn Scholars Exchange Program allows for the inspirational exchange of ideas, knowledge, and culture between degree-seeking Penn students and students from Egyptian universities. We invite up to five students per academic year to fully immerse themselves in the Penn experience.
