My Experience:

My experience in the seminar on Zimbabwean migration to South Africa and the immersive trip that followed has been a transformative journey, deeply intertwining with my dual-degree pursuit in Computer Science and Wharton.  I was enthralled by the parallels between migration patterns and the technological web connecting our global society and my trip to South Africa provided me with the incredible opportunity to discuss this with a computer scientist in South Africa, whose cutting-edge research delved into the fusion of DNA and technology for tracing migration dynamics. Additionally, as a Wharton student passionate about education and social impact,  I delved into the intricate economic implications interwoven within migration patterns. My heartfelt interactions with Zimbabwean immigrants and immersion in local initiatives like the Kliptown Youth Project and African Leadership Academy unveiled the profound transformative power of education and leadership. These eye-opening revelations have organically shaped my path, influencing my current role as a management consultant intern at a South African ed tech company, where I strive to apply these profound principles to drive meaningful and impactful strategies. With a Pakistani background, I gained valuable cross-cultural perspectives, augmenting my global outlook and enriching my interdisciplinary education. The seminar's African focus broadened my horizons, aligning seamlessly with my goal to bridge technology, business, and societal needs.
