Shyrmaine Sin is a native of Trinidad and Tobago. Coming from Drexel University, she joined the University of Pennsylvania, English Language Programs in the year 1997. In the year 1998, Shyrmaine was appointed the first International Scholar Specialist in the International Student and Scholar Services (ISSS).
Shyrmaine has over 26+ years of experience in international student and scholar services in higher education and uses the institutional knowledge gained in her role to enhance and streamline ISSS processing. She serves as the liaison between ISSS, Penn departments, affiliated institutions, and several government agencies, providing guidance on immigration regulations and policies when obtaining the necessary immigration documentation for the international scholar and student population, Shyrmaine also serves in helping the international scholars, students and employees maintain their international status during their stay in the United States.
Shyrmaine remains passionate in assisting foreign nationals during their stay in the United States to achieve their goals while furthering the mission of International Student and Scholar Services (ISSS), Penn Global.
