Semester Abroad
Bocconi University

Due to the coronavirus outbreak, physical classes at Bocconi University were canceled indefinitely and almost all students have returned home. Originally, I wanted to show others what I have been doing back home in Rome through a video, but quickly changed the idea because footages of me studying didn’t seem very engaging/entertaining even to myself. And so, I recounted aspects of my life affected by the outbreak, in the same manner, that adolescents in the Decameron by Renaissance humanist Giovanni Boccaccio did. This is my Pentameron.

Jiaqi Song is one of the Semester Abroad Global Correspondents writing and sharing his experience abroad during the Spring 2020 semester. This video comes from Jiaqi’s Youtube Channel where he details more from his life at Penn and in Italy.

The Semester Abroad (SA) program offers undergraduate students the opportunity to study in a new global community through extended study for a semester or year. Penn Abroad partners with top institutions around the globe and collaborates with Penn’s undergraduate schools to offer programs for students across academic disciplines.
