Biography
Christopher (Chris) Klaniecki is the Associate Director of Global Initiatives, leading Penn Global’s Grant Program as well as other key school partnerships and faculty engagement initiatives. He also manages stewardship and data initiatives in close partnership with Penn Global’s other divisions and Penn faculty and their administrators.
Chris initially joined Penn Global as a Global Initiatives Fellow, supporting a full range of activities for the Global Initiatives team including the China Research and Engagement Fund and other China initiatives, Penn Global funding programs, website management, and visits by foreign delegations and partners.
Prior to joining the Penn Global team, Chris served as an ESL educator both in China (Baoshan, Yunnan and Shenzhen, Guangdong) as well as at Foreign Language School International’s flagship branch based out of Chestnut Hill College north of Philadelphia. He has also worked in professional IT capacities, including at Penn and at Swarthmore College.
Chris graduated from Swarthmore College with dual B.A.’s in Chinese and Theater Studies and is currently pursuing his M.S.Ed. in Language, Globalization, and Intercultural Studies at Penn’s Graduate School of Education.
